From the Manufacturer The Crouse-Hinds EYS36 Condulet Sealing Male/Female Fitting Vertical/Horizontal Position, 1-Inch restricts the passage of gases, vapors, or flames from one portion of the electrical installation to another at atmospheric pressure and normal ambient temperatures. It limits the explosions to the sealed off enclosure and limits precompression or "pressure piling" in the conduit systems. It is available for installation in either vertical only or in both vertical or horizontal positions.
